It's a Great Evening for a Walk on the Beach

Ive been asked a few times about the nightlife in Sunset Beach, mainly from our new visitors to the island. Whats there to do when the sun goes down? Are there any bars on the island, dance clubs, or pool halls? It seems everybodys looking for bright lights and fast motion for late night fun while on vacation.

Big name resort towns have spoiled our society and taken away the simple pleasures from the traditional summer family vacation. I embrace the fact that Sunset Beach doesnt have all the glamour. Thats clearly not what were all about. Nightlife here is best experienced by an evening walk along the beach. The moonlight and stars that reflect off the oceans surface act as our bright lights. For music, weve got the soothing sounds of the ocean and the occasional strumming of an acoustic guitar. Youll have to take along your favorite drink; all the bartenders here are on vacation.

Claim your spot in the sand, close your eyes, and relax. Take a deep breath and let stress and reality float away. Children become fast friends with ghost crabs and chase them around on the strand, and fishermen set their poles along the shore to catch supper. Its a comfortable 75 degree evening with a gentle breeze coming off of the ocean. This is just another perfect summer evening in Sunset Beach.
